In 2nd Grade, students will begin the year with Linear Measurement. Students will build their understanding of standard units of measurement and relate that to the number line. The number line understanding is the foundation for the rest of the school year. The students will also begin Two- Digit Addition and Subtraction. Students will use their understanding of addition to develop fluency with addition and subtraction within 100. They will also solve problems within 1000 by applying their understanding of addition and subtraction. Problem solving will be an ongoing process as well. Helping students become comfortable and confident in word problems is a top priority. As always, practicing addition and subtraction facts daily will greatly benefit your child.
